Dubai, UAE; March 28, 2018: ENOC Group won Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport (DAST) 2018 under the Environmental Category, in recognition for its various sustainable initiatives.

The award was presented by H.H Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation

The Awards were established to encourage contribution towards the improvement of sustainable transport in the UAE. Across its retail network of 117 stations in the UAE, the Group has deployed a host of innovative initiatives that contribute to enhancing energy efficiency such as the introduction of PhotoVoltaic (PV) solar-powered stations and Vapour Recovery System (VR) - a process that almost eliminates the gasoline vapour or other fuel emissions in petrol stations by converting the fumes back to fuel, contributing to improved public health. The PV solar panels on the roof of the canopy can produce of 120 kWh (Kilowatt per hour) energy on an ideal day, generating approximately 30 per cent more than the average energy required to run the station. The excess power generated is transmitted back to DEWA’s main grid through a DEWA solar metre that tracks the power injected to the power grid.

Additionally, ENOC has introduced the installation of Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) technology for A/C systems which contribute towards 35 per cent reduced electricity consumption. Double-walled fuel tanks & pipes with leakage detection to avoid environment contamination and advanced dispenser systems designed to provide high flow to vehicles and trucks. Up to 50 per cent electricity is conserved with motion Sensor LED Lighting. ENOC stations also provides electric Vehicle Chargers and uses of recycled water for car washes. Variety of advanced payment methods from cash, card, mobile payment to ViP RFID technology, and pin-less payments.
