ENOC Group launches 'Graduate Development Programme' for UAE nationals

August 06, 2017

  • Programme follows appointment of fresh graduates chosen at Careers UAE fair
  • Year-long programme will focus on orientation, business skills training, inter-department experience and professional development training

Dubai, UAE; August 6, 2017: ENOC Group has introduced the first 'Graduate Development Programme' (GDP) - part of its National Development Programme initiative - aimed to help young UAE nationals in their transition from university to the workplace and contribute to the Group's talent development strategy.

The 12-month programme follows the selection of 15 graduates from over 40 applicants for several jobs offered by the Group at Careers UAE fair, for positions in engineering, marketing and sales, human resources, finance and accounting, and supply chain management. The programme prepares participants for management and leadership positions within ENOC Group through career development opportunities.

His Excellency Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO, ENOC, said: "The UAE's visionary leadership prioritised human capital development as it plays a key role in the creation of sustainable knowledge-based economies. The launch of the 'Graduate Development Programme' is in line with our commitment to attract and retain local talent, and provide progressive career development opportunities to groom them to be future leaders. As a national oil company, it is also our mandate to boost Emiratisation goals as part of the UAE Vision 2021."

The 15 young Emiratis who will join the ENOC workforce of over 10,000 employees will undergo a detailed induction and coaching programme which will match their skills and qualifications to the right job within the diverse oil & gas group.

The programme will be split into three phases over the year ensuring that participants experience ENOC's varied employment opportunities in a holistic manner. The first phase will mainly focus on orientation, including a 3-month corporate induction, targetted learning, group activities and events with the Group HR executives.

Phase two will emphasise business skills training - a range of specialised training modules that foster effective business and technical writing, critical thinking, communication and negotiation skills as well as business and communication skills to support the professional development.

The third phase will involve rotations that are designed to broaden the graduate's knowledge of business areas, and expand their internal and external professional network. This will also help them to identify their career path within ENOC based on where their skills and interests lie.

During these phases, participants will receive professional development opportunities on special projects, conferences, research papers and presentations. The UAE nationals will be given opportunities for networking and mentorship with senior executives at ENOC.

ENOC's National Development Programme initiative includes three levels Tatweer, Mawaheb and Imtiaz - that aim to develop functional, technical, behavioural and managerial competencies. The recently launched GDP is a component of Tatweer.

TATWEER - Foundational functional competency-based skill building programme for entry level technical staff, graduates and non-technical staff

MAWAHEB - 'Talent Building' development program focused on developing both functional and behavioural competencies

IMTIAZ - 'Future Leaders' program designed to further develop leadership competence and capability
