  • Zoom stores strategically located at the Expo 2020 site received over a million customers throughout the six-month global event.

ENOC Group, the Official Integrated Energy Partner of Expo 2020 Dubai, today announced it welcomed 215,630 visitors at its state-of-the-art pavilion during the six months of Expo 2020 Dubai, supporting its theme to ‘Reimagine Energy’.

His Excellency Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO, ENOC, said: “We would like to congratulate the UAE and its wise leadership for successfully hosting a global event of this magnitude. The World’s Greatest Show – aptly named – showed the resilience and preparedness of a country as young as the United Arab Emirates that continued to serve as a model for public and private sector collaboration whilst overcoming the challenges of a global pandemic.”

ENOC showcased its presence at Expo 2020 through its pavilion, which was designed to take visitors on an immersive 15-minute journey to challenge the conventional understanding of energy and offer inspiring insights on how we can all partner in shaping the future of energy. Aligned with Expo 2020 Dubai’s theme, ‘Connecting minds, creating the future’, and the organisation’s partnership philosophy, the pavilion included ‘The Hive’, a dedicated space for stakeholders to engage in finding solutions to the industry’s unanswered questions.

“From an industry perspective, the historic event provided a unique platform to facilitate discussion over the future of integrated energy and adopting sustainable best practices, offering a dynamic business environment that is driving innovation and sustainability today. Throughout the six months of Expo 2020 Dubai, as the Official Energy Partner of Expo 2020 Dubai, we witnessed cutting-edge ideas, innovations and technologies that will help to shape the future,” Al Falasi added.

ENOC’s state-of-the-art pavilion’s contribution to Expo 2020

The pavilion, which provided a strategic platform to facilitate business collaborations, received 51 special government and international delegations including representatives from The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, France, Brazil, Finland, Paraguay, Japan, Uganda, Somalia, Colombia, and Jamaica.

ENOC also received a total of 2,055 students of all ages from 103 school visits as part of the Expo School Programme that focused on delivering a once-in-a-lifetime learning experience, aligned with diverse UAE school curricula. In addition to helping students to think critically, communicate and grow, a visit through ENOC’s pavilion inspired them to understand the role of energy in the past, present and future. Students viewed energy through the lens of personal connection whilst gaining inspiring insights on partnering to shape the future of energy.

Throughout the period of Expo 2020 Dubai, ENOC hosted a total of 102 events and meetings at its pavilion including board and senior management meetings, townhalls, and signing ceremonies with a number of partners.

ZOOM conveniently supporting visitor needs throughout Expo 2020

Following the official opening of Expo 2020 Dubai, ENOC opened 10 ZOOM stores in strategic locations in the Expo 2020 premises to meet the needs of its visitors. In the first week of the global event, ZOOM served over 100,000 customers, which increased to more than one million customers as the World’s Greatest Show concluded.

Last year, ZOOM was also appointed as an Authorised Ticket Reseller for Expo 2020 Dubai, and sold tickets to customers across all stores including standalone stores and convenience stores across ENOC and EPPCO’s service stations, and outlets located on the Dubai Metro network. The homegrown convenience stores also sold Expo-branded souvenirs to visitors.

Throughout Expo 2020 Dubai, ENOC continued to represent the energy industry and the UAE on a global stage and inspired the world to reimagine energy. In line with its commitment, the Group showcased energy’s sustainability through its Service Station of the Future, which is currently using multiple sources of energy, from solar to wind as well as traditional hydrocarbon sources. ENOC remains committed to supporting the UAE government to meet its national goals including Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030, UAE Centennial 2071 and the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, which is expected to help generate 75 per cent Dubai’s total power output from clean energy by 2050.
