H.E. Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Awar

H.E. Dr. Abdulrahman has a Ph.D. in Geology and Geological Engineering from Colorado School of Mines, USA, 1995. He started his career in Dubai petroleum Company in 1996.

H.E. Dr. Al Awar has over 23 years of experience in executive roles in Public and Private sectors and across various industries (spanning Oil & Gas & banking, etc.). He served previously as Executive Vice President of Business Development – New Smelters in Dubai Aluminum Company (DUBAL). The Business Development division was responsible for developing multi billions of US$ smelter projects in the UAE and the Region. In addition, he served in Mubadala, Dolphin Energy, HSBC and Dubai Petroleum company. In addition, he served as a Director General of the National Human Resource Development & Employment Authority “TANMIA”.

H.E. Dr. Abdulrahman A. Al-Awar is the United Arab Emirates Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation. He is also a board member of Dragon Oil (Holding) Limited, the University of Dubai, Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government, National Defense College Supreme Council, UAE Gender Balance Council, and the UAE Gender Balance Council. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Higher Colleges of Technology and the Arab Center for Youth Empowerment.
